For mac users, please follow these steps carefully:

Step 1:
After you download PTB, drop the enclosed 'PIDtoolbox_v0.6x' folder and all of its contents onto your desktop.

Step 2:
PTB v0.6x uses a completely new version of Matlab so you MUST install it from scratch (unless you already installed v0.6x at some point in which case you just need to replace the PIDtoolbox app). Install using the 'MyAppInstaller_web' program located in the 'installer' folder.

Step 3:
After installation is complete, navigate to the 'main' folder in the 'PIDtoolbox_v0.6x' folder you downloaded (DO NOT run the PIDtoolbox app from the applications folder! Ignore that one and any shortcuts to that program, you will not be using it). Instead, use the PIDtoolbox app in the 'main' folder found in the 'PIDtoolbox_v0.6x' folder you downloaded. In there is the application you will run. Double click the PIDtoolbox application.

Step 4:
The first time you run the PTB app, you will see a popup telling you that "PIDtoolbox" cannot be opened because the developer cannot be identified. Like with the Betaflight configurator or other non-Apple approved programs, you have to go to 'System Preferences', then 'Security and Privacy', then the 'General' tab, then click cancel on the popup and it will give you the option to 'Open anyway'. Then PTB should open. You may have to do this again the first time the 'blackbox_decode.app' is called upon loading your first logfile. There might be other ways to mitigate this if you are Mac savvy ;-)

Step 5:
The first time you run PTB, you will also see a 'Help Dialog' popup telling you that when you click 'OK', a navigator window will appear requiring you to navigate to the location of your PIDtoolbox 'main' folder (to set up the PTB 'working' directory). Simply navigate to the 'main' folder in the PIDtoolbox_v0.6x folder that you downloaded then click 'open' and you're done. It will only ask this one time, but if for some reason you selected the wrong folder, you can re-set this main 'working' directory with the button in the PTB main screen, below the table, bottom right, called 'Reset main directory'. If you are unable to do this, you may instead go to 'users/shared' folder and delete the txt file named 'mainDir-PTBv0.6x.txt'. Then when you run PTB again, it will start this process again and give you the 'Help Dialog' box. To confirm this was done correctly, when PTB opens, look at the table in the lower right at the row called 'mainDirectory:'; it should point to '//...PIDtoolbox_v0.6x/main'. If not, click the 'Reset main directory' button below this and do it again, OR delete the txt file named 'mainDir-PTBv0.6x.txt' under 'users/shared'.

Step 6:
NEVER put log files in the PTB main folder. They will be flushed/deleted after loading. The 'main' folder is used as a temporary place it copies log files, loads them, then cleans up and deletes them.

Step 7:
ALWAYS unlock log files in Mac. Mac log files tend to be locked and when PTB reads them it is unable to flush and clear them from the 'main' folder, unless they are unlocked. As a result, these files will remain in the 'main' folder, and if you load a different logfile with the same name, PTB will instead load the old one that is stuck in main. This has confused many people in the past. UNLOCK Mac log files, and to avoid confusion, and rename them uniquely would be my advice. To unlock log files, use right mouse button, click get info, and you'll see a 'locked' checkbox; uncheck that, then rename.

enjoy!
